FAQ’s

Why do I have to sign in with Facebook?

One way of getting Offers is doing good by ‘liking’ a non profit organisation’s Facebook page. So we scan your profile for recent likes and you can get great Offers! We also prompt people to tell their friends about Blue Dot, our Offers and the good causes we support through their social networks. This is why we ask people to log in with Facebook. We will be creating other ways to log in soon..

How many Dots do I get for donating to charity?

For a £1 donation, you will get 1 Dot and so on…

How many Dots do I get for sharing on social networks?

Currently you can get up to 3 Dots each week by liking non-profits pages on Facebook or for inviting friends to do some good and get great Offers by spreading the word.

When can I start earning Dots through volunteering?

You can currently get Dots through any of our volunteering partners. If you want to suggest using Dots to a volunteering organisation then go ahead. We’d love to hear from them.

Which countries are you active in?

At the moment we are predominantly supporting charities based in the UK, although you can donate to any global charity through Justgiving’s database of 9,000 and promote and share any global non-profit on Facebook.

We are also active in the USA and Americans can support any charity in the same way as the UK site with the US version of JustGiving; Network for Good.

Can I use Blue Dot on my Mobile?

Yes. Our site will work on any mobile but our full mobile offering with apps, and QR codes is coming very soon.

I give through Payroll Giving. Can I get Dots?

We are working with representatives of The UK Government to try and get something working as soon as possible. Payroll Givers are making an enormous difference and there is an opportunity for many more to participate. We would like to help make that happen.

I’ve done some good – volunteered, donated, promoted causes – and not got any Blue Dot Offers?

Make sure you are connected with Facebook and have ‘scanned your profile’ which will scan your profile for any recent action that earns you Dots.

The other way to get Offers is to donate through the site to a charity of your choice, redeem a Dots code / e-voucher, or be awarded Dots for volunteering from a recognised volunteering organisation or being sent a link for some Dots by one of our partners. Please scan you profile to update and if your Dots still aren’t showing try refreshing your browser and clearing your cookies. If this still doesn’t work then please get in touch so we can help you get them.

I am from a charity and want to know how we can benefit from Blue Dot?

As a charity you can reward your supporters with access to fantastic exclusive offers and competitions. Any charity or non-profit can use and benefit from Blue Dots for FREE now. Just go ahead and publicise that if anybody visits our site and donates, shares or promotes your specific name & work on Facebook, or volunteers (coming soon), they can get Blue Dot Offers. There’s more info for charities here.

Natasha Hill, Marketing Director, Cancer Research UK , says “Blue Dot can be to charities what Nectar is to shops.”
